FSU Survey
I recently took a survey on physician-assisted suicide at the Florida State University. The survey consisted of twenty five males and twenty five females. In this survey the participants were asked if they knew what physician-assisted suicide was. No matter the answer to the first question, the participants were then given a proper definition and description of physician-assisted suicide and informed that it is currently illegal. The students were then asked if they would vote to legalize physician-assisted suicide if it were to be proposed. In this survey 48% knew what physician-assisted suicide was. When asked about legalization, 78% of the participants said they would vote in favor of legalization of physician-assisted suicide. This percentage shows a vast majority of people are in favor of physician-assisted suicide and provides for another reason why physician-assisted suicide should be legalized, especially considering that only a simple majority of over 50% of people is needed for legalization.
